• Unigraphics NX5

UG Generative Machining, a hybrid solid modeler,
provides CMI with a fully integrated computerized
design-through-manufacturing process. A solid model
database is utilized for engineering, CNC tool path
generation, drafting, and stereolithography (rapid
prototyping). UG is the primary CAD/CAM/CAE software used by CMI
  

• AutoCAD Mechanical Desktop 2008

AutoCAD, a design automation product, is used for design, drafting, reverse engineering, and detailing of CAD models and customer parts.
 

Data Exchange

• Type of data

Unigraphics compatible data including native files from IDEAS, AutoCAD, Solid Edge, JT, CATIA, etc...can be used without translation. All other types of data files must be translated through IGES (initial graphics exchange standard), .STP (STEP), .DXF, .WMF (Metafile), .SAT (ACIS), .BMP (Bitmap), or .3DS (3D Studio).

• Data Transfer

CMI can recieve data via the Internet (info@cmi-technology.com) or magnetic media. CD/DVD Rom, memory stick, DOS floppy diskettes, and 4mm DAT (Digital Audio Tape) are acceptable media. WINZIP can be used to compress large data files.
