Design Services

Experienced staff

Our in-house design and drafting staff has over thirty years experience in designing assembly and machining fixtures, gages, glass pressing mold equipment, prototype equipment, and specialty machinery serving the automotive, medical, industrial fastener, consumer products, packaging, and aerospace industries.

Design/Reverse Engineer/Build

With the combination of our design and drafting staff and full service machine shop, we have the capability to handle all of your design, drawing, reverse engineering, and build needs. CMI specializes in the design, manufacture, repair, and build to special machined, fixtures, guages, glass, pressing mold equipment, trim and cutting dies. We can also provide solutions for the modification/upgrade of your present equipment and processes.

Documentation

Full documentation 2D/3D packages can be provided using the AutoCAD 2008 software. The packages typically include assembly, details, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic drawings. Recommended spare parts list and machine manuals can also be provided.

3D modeling and CBC programming

The capabilities of CMI can assist you with any complex project requiring 3D modeling and CNC programming. We utilize EDS/Unigraphics NX5 CAD/CAM which includes solid modeling, 3D wireframe, surface modeling, NC programs-2 through 5 axis, CMM drive data, graphic inspection data analysis, production milling and turning and fixture/part design.
